Government Resolution No. 284 adopted
The Government adopted Resolution No. 284 on organising the Kharkhorum International Scholarly Congress and the Traditional Mongolian Games.
Marking the 820th anniversary of the Great Mongol State, the 840th of Ögedei Khaan's birth and the 440th of the Erdene Zuu monastery, the events are to be held in Kharkhorum (Kharkhorin) on 13–14 August 2026.
Relevant ministers, the governors of Arkhangai and Övörkhangai and the Council were tasked with organising the events under a unified plan, financed within the Council's approved 2026 budget.
The Council was also advised to involve NGOs, businesses and citizens and to accept lawful donations and other support.

Working Group established for the Scholarly Congress
By Prime Minister's Order No. 153, a Working Group was established to organise the congress and games on 13–14 August 2026.
The group is chaired by the Minister and Head of the Cabinet Secretariat, deputy-chaired by the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing, and includes the Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, the governors of Arkhangai and Övörkhangai, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the National Police Agency, the State Physical Culture and Sports Committee, the leadership of the Academy of Sciences, the Chair of the Kharkhorum City Counciland the Secretary-General of the International Association for Mongol Studies.
Sub-working groups may be formed with central, local and professional bodies as needed.

Executive Office structure approved
The Council approved the Executive Office's structure, based on articles 13.1 and 14.1 of the Kharkhorum Law, article 11.2 of the Civil Service Law and the Council Rules approved by Government Resolution No. 118 of 2026.
The Secretary and Head of the Executive Office was tasked with approving job descriptions within the staff limit, recruiting, and drafting the Office rules.

The Council's action plan for the second half of 2026
The Council's H2 2026 action plan is built around three objectives: improving the legal environment; developing external relations and cooperation; and delivering projects supporting the priority directions.
It includes hosting the Kharkhorum International Scholarly Congress, holding Parliament's ceremonial session in the city in September, signing an MoU with Tsinghua University, and beginning the Great Khaans Park.

Revised master plan concept endorsed
By Resolution No. 116 the Government endorsed the revised concept in principle and authorised drafting of the master plan.
It also tasked selecting an internationally experienced strategic advisory team and studying new financing sources for Cabinet.
